Shell and 925 silver pendant, signed, maker's mark, unique piece, contemporary creation.
Shaped by her studies in geology and archaeology, Delphine Nardin is a self-taught jewelry designer. Her approach is akin to that of an artist. Each unique piece is born from her intuitions and unexpected discoveries. The materials carry memory and energy: frosted glass enhanced by erosion, raw stones formed billions of years ago, seashells from the beaches of the Cotentin peninsula, as illustrated by the "double" pendant shown here, and relics gathered from various sources.
An obsession with materials is countered by a concern for contemporary form. The swiftness of the gesture establishes subtle relationships of color and echoes between proportions. Verticality and horizontality, straight lines and curves, power and fragility are in constant dialogue. The technical precision of the joints lends lightness and mobility to the jewelry. Underlying this is the idea of transcending time, of finding beauty in simplicity, and of capturing a trace of the immaterial.
Delphine Nardin's work has been exhibited in prestigious Parisian galleries such as the Woolworth Gallery in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Naïla de Monbrison Gallery at the Palais Bourbon, and the Objet d'Émotion Gallery in London.
