Sculpture ring with the effigy of the artist's recurring motif, silver (800), signed

As a new realist, Arman  raises the symbols of the modern world to the rank of works of art. His accumulations evoke in this son of an antique dealer from Nice, a kind of archeology of the modern world. By breaking them, he appropriates them and gives them life. In the mid-1960s, when he had to remain bedridden for health reasons, he made jewelry from watch parts and small wooden musical instruments which he had published subsequently in gold and silver.
